Do you only work with people in Washington DC?

While our focus is on internships and jobs in DC, we work with students across the country.

Who are the coaches and why aren’t they listed on the website?

Because of the nature of their careers and their frequently changing schedules, we do not list individual coaches on the website.

How will I be matched with a coach?

When you book a session, we review your goals, areas of interest, and the type of support you need. Based on that information, we match you with a coach who has experience most relevant to your field. This way you work with someone who understands both the application process and the environment you want to enter. You will also get the bio of your coach sent to your email prior to your appointment.

Why should I choose NextStep DC instead of figuring it out on my own or using my university’s career center?

We actually encourage all of our clients to utilize their university’s career center before booking a coaching session with us. Career centers are a great first step for general guidance and resources. NextStep DC fills the gap by providing personalized, DC-specific coaching from recent graduates who have just navigated the same process. We focus on tailored strategies, insider perspectives, and real-world examples that complement the broader support offered by universities.

Do you guarantee I’ll get an internship or job?

No responsible coach can guarantee outcomes, and neither do we. What we provide is structure, strategy, and peer-tested methods to improve your chances of success.

What is your refund policy?

We DO NOT offer refunds once a coaching session has been completed! However, if you need to cancel or reschedule, we ask that you do so at least 24 hours in advance, and we will work with you to find a new time. Our goal is to make sure every client gets value from their experience, and we are committed to addressing concerns on a case-by-case basis.
